Cube tofu and toss (gently) with the cornstarch until coated. Arrange on a baking sheet lined with parchment. Arrange broccoli and peppers on another baking sheet. Drizzle all with olive oil and salt. Roast both pans at 425 degrees for 20-30 minutes, until tofu is slightly crisped and broccoli is roasty and delicious.

Thicken the Sauce: Bring the sauce to a low boil over medium high heat. Stir in the cornstarch / arrowroot powder mixture and stir until thickened. Keep warm over low heat until the tofu is cooked. Add Tofu: Toss the cooked tofu in the sauce and let it simmer on low for 2-3 minutes then remove from heat.


How to Make a Quick and Easy Vegan Tofu Bowl

Transfer the tofu to a medium-size mixing bowl. Add the cornstarch and mix well making sure all the tofu cubes are well coated. Add the soy sauce, sriracha and maple syrup. Combine all the ingredients and leave to marinate for 10-15 minutes. Cook the rice following the packet instructions.

Step 1: Bake the Tofu. Cube the tofu then place it in a bowl and gently toss with the soy sauce, pepper and garlic powder. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (or use a bit of non-stick cooking spray) then place the tofu on the tray and bake for 30 minutes, flipping once half way through, until browned and crisp.

Cut tofu into 1-inch cubes and add to the bowl. Gently toss to coat and let stand for at least 10 minutes. Bake the tofu. Arrange tofu in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing the cubes about 1 inch apart. Bake until golden brown, about 25 minutes. Cook the mushrooms. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Note 1: I used super firm (also known as extra firm) tofu, but firm tofu will also work. If using "firm tofu," I recommend pressing it a bit first using a tofu press (I like my EZ Tofu Press) or two plates or cutting boards and a weight of some sort.If you want to use marinated tofu, press it first, then mix up a marinade (my fave is soy sauce or tamari, smoked paprika, and a dash of maple.

Combine ½ a teaspoon of ground turmeric, 1 tablespoon each of white miso and rice vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of mirin in a wide shallow bowl, and mix well. Add the tofu steaks and turn to coat in the marinade. Set aside to let the flavours mingle for at least 1 hour, turning halfway. Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F/gas 6.

Place tofu on a paper-towel lined plate; press a paper towel and heavy skillet over top of tofu to absorb excess water. Let stand 15 minutes before dicing into bite-size cubes. In a large bowl, combine tofu, cornstarch, chili powder, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Stir in 1 tablespoon olive oil until well combined.

Drain and dry your tofu. Cut tofu into cubes. Pour the milk into your shallow bowl. Add the tofu to the bowl, coating it. In the ziplock bag, add the cornstarch, sesame seeds and seasoning. Drop the cubes of tofu into the ziplock bag (not the milk though!) and gently shake the bag until the tofu is coated in the mixture.

Place on a clean dish cloth or between paper towels and gently press to soak up some of the moisture. Dice the tofu into 1/2 inch cubes. Marinate: In a medium bowl or shallow dish, combine the soy sauce, sambal, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and sweet onions. Toss in the tofu and let rest in for 10 minutes.

Combine the soy sauce, maple syrup, sriracha, sesame oil and ginger powder in a bowl and set aside. Cut the tofu into cubes and toss with corn starch. Heat some oil in a skillet over medium heat and add the tofu - making sure the pieces don't touch. Cook until browned on most sides (I usually do 4 sides of each cube).

Instructions. Prepare the tofu by heating the sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat, then add your cubed tofu. Let the tofu get crispy on each side. Once all sides are crispy, add your soy sauce and let it reduce and crisp even more for another 6-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Put the tofu, broccoli and chickpeas in the oven and cook for 15 minutes, turning half way through. Meanwhile, cook the quinoa. Add it to a saucepan with 375ml/1.5 cups of water and a little salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, and cook for 15 minutes, covered. Thinly slice the zucchini and cabbage.
